It Is Better To Use AC Adapter When Laptop Is Working

We usually talk about power energy saving, laptop performance, lightness, and other relevant features for computers. In these aspects, the laptop is different from each other when it is plugged with laptop charger or not. As a matter of fact, the running rate and power energy are also different with battery and ASUS EXA0901XH AC adapter.

In theory, as long as the output power of AC adapter is high enough, it can support the whole laptop computer well to play with the internal and external devices and programs to process. Especially for those who have upgraded the configuration of laptop, it is not powerful enough to run with laptop battery only.

Under power solution equilibrium mode, the laptop computer is always working with low loading, the output voltage and running frequency will also be decreased to save more power energy. When it is under high loading, the system will improve the core voltage to be of high frequency.

When the power option is of high performance, the laptop computer can reduce voltage and frequency automatically to play with the best performance.

Without AC adapter, the laptop balance mode will run different from each other with the mode with battery only. If it is only tested by the processor, the different is tiny. Actually, it is caused by the requirements of other laptop parts.

Even so, in auto mode, the processor will adjust the power option from balanced to high performance and the laptop graphic core is also enhanced. From the laptop battery point of view, the maximum output power cannot meet the regular demands if working with battery only. However, in the aspect of integrated graphics card, the performance is similar.

In high performance mode, the laptop code will be of high running frequency to support the upgraded power options and other programs. That is why laptop computer needs a high rate AC adapter instead of laptop battery.

Check Laptop Charger by Yourself

Laptop is one of the most videly used electronical items, which depends on a rechargeable laptop battery to keep it on and preforming. When your laptop fails to stay charged or charge at all, it is time for you to troubleshoot the issue by yourself before paying for another professional charger.

You can test your ASUS laptop charger as the following steps:

1,Be sure that the charger is plugged well into a working outlet and getting power and also the connector at the power cord, since many non-charging problem come with the loose connection, that is the quite important step before you have another test.

2,Try to run the laptop from the laptop charger only. Power off the laptop, after several seconds take off the battery , and then plug the charger in, then press the on button to check if the laptop could be on. If it will not run on with the charger alone then the charger is faulty or no longer any good to power the ASUS laptop battery. In some cases your laptop will run off with the charger, but that is not the charger problem, since there is a possibility that the power of the charger is low and can not support the laptop to perform, in this case you have a faulty charger. If the laptop turn on with only the charger plug on, that means the ASUS laptop charger is in good condition, and you could really continue to use it.

3,Try charging your laptop with the laptop powered off. Sometimes the charger will charge the laptop when it is powered completely off, but not when it is on. If it only charges the ASUS laptopbattery when the laptop is off, then you have a faulty charger.

4,Check the ASUS laptop battery for corrosion and/or leakage. If there is a sign of either corrosion or leakage you will need to stop attempting to use the battery pack and replace it immediately. And there is another reason of non-working battery, very battery has a lifespan, after a long-time used, it will be consumed much, and sometimes you could not full charge it.

5,If you still can not find out the question, you could have a try with a tool voltmeter.Test your charger with a voltmeter. If it is an AC Adapter of ASUS laptop, set a voltmeter to 25 VAC. Make the contacts and probes touch, and look for a reading. If there is not a reading on the meter, the charger is not any good. For DC chargers, set a voltmeter to 25 VDC and make the contacts and probes touch. The meter should read at least 1V more than the chargers rating. If it does not, the probes need to be switched.

5.Well-checking your ASUS EXA0901XH power cords well, any loose at the connector also will let your laptop charger can not work.

    Cool Down Your Laptop Charger

If your laptop charger gets extremely hot. What will you do about this? You may afraid of your adapter will be burn out and it would burn the house.

First, you really do not need to worry about a fire hazard will be happened, since the power adapter has an intelligent chipset and will blow itself when any unusual over surge being detected, and the adapter can bear a temperature of 800℃,so it is still safe to use this ac adapter.

However, overuse of the device can cause it to generate a significant amount of heat, make it extremely hot to the touch. And it is also not good for your adapter spanlife .So it is better to cool the power cords down before letting it work again.

    Instruction:

  • Remove the AC adapter from the power outlet it’s connected to.
  • Disconnect the AC adapter from the device that it powers — if possible.
  • Place the AC adapter on a hard, non-flammable surface. Areas such as porcelain, metal or linoleum will work fine.
  • Allow up to three hours for the adapter to cool.

Laptop AC Adapter Sparking When Plugged In

ASUS laptop charger sparks when plugged the charger in,the grenn light on the adapter box is on the charger goes out as oon as it is plugged in. Once removing the power cord, it smells as if the inside of the computer is buring.A friend of mine cried when she heard the
buzzing noise of the spark, she is afraid of a fire will happen and burned her house.

Many people may accross this question. First, please do not worry, the charger can not damager your laptop, and couldn’t be a fire hazard, becuase the ac adapter features an intelligent chipset and will blow itself when any unusual over surge being detected, it can bear a temperature of 800℃,so it is still safe to use.

At the same time a small spark is normal. The type of power supply on laptops is a switched-mode power supply. With this type of device there is often an “in-rush current”that appears as a spark when the DC connector of the charger first hits the receptacle contacts (spark usually appears in mid/higher end adapters where a capacitor is used to keep interference down, it is the capacitor that initiates the in-rush current and causes the spark).
